MSP ALLIANCE WEBINAR: THE STATE OF INFORMATION SECURITY FOR THE MANAGED SERVICE PROVIDER
SANTA CLARA, CALIF. – April 20, 2010 – Managed service providers (MSPs) interested in exploring the latest risks, considerations and technologies regarding information security should attend the April 29th webinar presented by AccelOps, the integrated data center and cloud service management leader, in partnership with the MSPAlliance.
The complimentary webinar, "The State of Information Security for the Managed Service Provider," will take place on Thursday, April 29th at 9:00 A.M. PDT. Managed Service Providers are invited to attend the live panel discussing means to alleviate security, data privacy and compliance concerns for the customer and MSP.
Lead by Charles Weaver, president of MSPAlliance, the roundtable session will explore the information security topics from a customer, legal, analyst and vendor perspective. The diverse panel will examine such issues as: legal considerations, customer concerns and expectations, compliance liabilities, operational threats and controls, and more.
About the Speakers
Charles Weaver is the co-founder and president of the MSPAlliance, an international standards and accrediting body for managed service providers. In addition to running the daily operational activities of the consortium, he writes and speaks extensively around the world on the managed services industry.
Richard Navarro is the director of IT at the Jewish Home of San Francisco, a senior adult healthcare provider serving the greater San Francisco and Silicon Valley area. Richard’s organization manages two sites and serves over 900 users. Prior to Jewish Home, Richard was the director of IT Operations and Support for the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. Richard had held IT management roles at Clinimetrics, Harmonic and St. Jude Medical.
Lawrence Dietz has over 30 years of diversified military and commercial information security experience. Larry is managing director of information security and legal services at Tal Global. A licensed attorney in California and a recognized authority in compliance, he has written numerous articles and has lectured internationally on critical legal issues related to the Internet, electronic commerce and Cyber warfare. A retired colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, Dietz previously held senior roles at Symantec Corporation, Zona Research and Giga Information Group.
Eric Ogren, principal analyst with The Ogren Group, is a highly regarded security analyst with over 16 years of enterprise security experience in both research and practice. Eric started his own research firm, and is an active writer and contributor to the industry. Prior to The Ogren Group, for years Eric was a senior security analyst at the Enterprise Strategy Group and at the Yankee Group. Eric also has held leadership roles at Okena, Tizor, RSA Security, Digital Equipment and Factpoint.
Scott Gordon is vice president of marketing and business development at AccelOps, an integrated data center and cloud service management solution provider. Prior to AccelOps, Scott was part of the team at Protego, the makers of the popular MARS security information management solution acquired by Cisco. For the past 20 years, Scott has advocated and contributed to the advancement of innovative enterprise systems, networking and information security solutions.
