Original MARS Creators Set Out to Take Cisco Users beyond CS-MARS
SANTA CLARA, CALIF. – November 16, 2009 – AccelOps, the integrated datacenter monitoring innovator, today announced a Competitive Upgrade Package exclusively for Cisco CS-MARS security appliance customers and resellers seeking greater functionality, interoperability and investment protection. The package offers a cost-effective migration option in response to those users assessing the recent Cisco policy of diminished CS-MARS support of non-Cisco devices. AccelOps founders, who previously created Cisco’s popular security monitoring appliance, offer a holistic monitoring approach that results in greater operational control, efficient incident response and compliance automation beyond that of current SIEMs (Security Information Event Management systems).
According to recent reports from industry analysts and news sources: "MARS is becoming less viable as a general SIEM solution" and "no new third-party devices will be added." The Competitive Upgrade Package gives CS-MARS end users and resellers a compelling and convenient means to transition to the more advanced AccelOps platform.
Cisco users can upgrade their MARS appliance to the equivalent AccelOps virtual appliance model at the customer’s current MARS maintenance fee and receive a full year of maintenance and support. The package also includes assessment services to facilitate the transition process and provides multi-year discounts. A channel program is also available to qualified system integrators to participate in the Competitive Upgrade Package with significant incentives.
While Cisco CS-MARS pioneered real-time security event analysis (also known as SIEM) by combining network and security analysis in an easy-to-use, high performance hardware appliance, AccelOps provides the next logical evolution – a plug and play, scalable virtual appliance solution that not only redefines the next generation of SIEM, but takes Cisco users beyond MARS.
Leveraging a breakthrough architectural framework and dynamic Web 2.0 GUI, AccelOps combines powerful analytics engine, automated CMDB and event consolidation, intelligent anomaly detection, innovative identity and location binding, business service impact awareness and prioritization, robust search and reporting, and optimized data management for real-time and long-term data analysis.
In addition to the full-fledged (SIEM), log management and compliance management functions, AccelOps provides datacenter and IT service management – a single pane of glass for monitoring availability, performance, security and change management across operations in the context of business services.
