ACCELOPS BRINGS INTEGRATED DATACENTER MONITORING AND IT SERVICE MANAGEMENT TO CHINA
SANTA CLARA, CALIF. – December 9, 2009 – AccelOps, the integrated datacenter monitoring leader, is expanding its operations into China and has opened its first office in Shanghai. The company is hiring an initial 25 new employees based in Shanghai, mostly engineers and software developers, to provide additional resources for extending and customizing the AccelOps datacenter monitoring platform. In parallel, the team will assess the Chinese datacenter market requirements to prepare for the localization and eventual introduction of AccelOps’ products in China and other Asian regions.
"China is an ideal environment for us, both for its large pool of top engineering talent and the strategic IT market opportunity it presents," said Imin Lee, CEO of AccelOps. "You must have a global mind set to be extremely successful in business today, and eventually China will be one third of world’s economy. Even now the sheer size and number of people in China using the Internet and telecom services creates gigantic data centers. Since there is no IT infrastructure legacy in China, these datacenters make extensive use of cloud computing and are also leading edge. They need a fully integrated, next-generation datacenter and IT service management solution like AccelOps."
As a Chinese native who came to the United States in the 1980s to study and work, Ms. Lee is well positioned to execute on this strategy. She understands the intricacies and nuances of the business and popular culture in China, its market economy and relationships with the US.
"It is a very different market. For one thing, Internet use is pervasive, but the primary user device is the mobile phone, not the PC. Even migrant workers use cell phones, because it is the lowest cost way to access entertainment, news, books or games," said Lee.
