Business Service Management / SLA

Link your physical and virtual infrastructure to business and business services.
AccelOps provides an automated, pragmatic and scalable means to define business services, associate application and infrastructure resources,
understand dependencies, monitor key performance indicators, track SLA metrics and proactively monitor service delivery.
What is BSM?
Business Service Management (BSM) provides the means for managing, monitoring, and measuring information technology (IT) as it relates to your business services. BSM answers such questions as:
- Are we meeting operational-level and service-level requirements?
- How can we proactively manage our infrastructure and more efficiently respond to incidents and threats?
- What components are affecting which IT services?
- Where can we consolidate or expand resource capacity to assure service delivery?

AccelOps BSM advantages
AccelOps offers a superior, automated, and scalable BSM solution that allows any organization to quickly and easily:
- define a service and apply service-level requirements
- associate supporting delivery infrastructure
- monitor key performance indicators and other service controls
- respond to service incidents and plan for service enhancements
- track service-level delivery metrics and record their business impact
- identify consolidation, migration, and license reduction opportunities
- achieve continuous improvement
- dashboard-level view of each business service to track the health of business services
BSM False Starts
Many organizations have invested in point solutions that provide discrete functional benefits, but are not integrated across IT management functions, do not correlate disparate operational data, and are not service-oriented.
Employing "loosely integrated" products from legacy systems vendors is an option for those who can afford the massive costs, complexity, professional services, and deferred return on investment. The promise of buying modular components as needed seems attractive until you add the costs and integration headaches.
BSM options from niche performance monitoring vendors do not solve the problem, and present another layer of administrative burden. Their approach relies on separately managed operational utilities to feed a "BSM console" which alerts crossed thresholds, and reports on calculated downtime. Unfortunately, the approach adds to the customer’s product portfolio and costs, but lacks the requisite level of automation, cross-correlation, real-time analytics, operational intelligence, and historic data management.
BSM Automated, Bottom-Up Approach
In contrast to the large frameworks and niche performance monitoring vendors, AccelOps’ all-in-one discovery, automation, analytics, out-of-the-box dashboards, rules, and reports offer accelerated time-to-value, using your current staff and leveraging your existing operational data.
AccelOps is designed to yield immediate value and convenient installation with a dynamic web 2.0 interface, setup wizards, and auto-discovery of network resources. Built-in analytics enable extensive, component-based IT management. AccelOps provides a bottom-up, pragmatic approach to BSM. Once started, users are encouraged to establish IT and business services to enable even greater oversight, service reliability and assured SLA delivery.
AccelOps enables a rapid approach to service mapping, service definition, service monitoring, SLA trending, and assessing business impact. Simply establish a service by selecting from your existing applications, and AccelOps helps by automatically identifying the respective systems and infrastructure that delivers the applications. The monitored key performance indicators and rules for each component are inherited by the service. Once created, you can add any additional service-level requirements by applying rules to defined services. AccelOps provides a bottom-up, pragmatic approach to BSM.
The result dynamically links IT services and their underlying IT infrastructure, and continuously monitors and reports on service delivery. Now the IT organization can quickly and easily define services, set SLA targets, measure service level results, take corrective actions and continuously improve their contribution to business objectives.
Business Service Health
With integrated business service monitoring, the entire organization can be on the same page to monitor, prioritize and respond to problems affecting a business service, not just react to individual device and application issues.
AccelOps tracks and presents the overall service health, as well as performance, availability, security and change management incidents affecting service levels. Using built-in business service performance rules, the administrators will be notified when issues or problems appear affecting defined business services.
